Stone Mather Designs (SMD) has been designing and manufacturing custom decorative light fixtures since 1992. Based in Bernalillo, New Mexico, we are a trusted OEM lighting manufacturer serving both residential and commercial markets nationwide.
As a UL-authorized manufacturer, our fixtures meet rigorous safety standards and can be labeled for incandescent, fluorescent, and LED applications in dry, damp, or wet locations.
Every fixture we build is crafted with precision using laser-cut steel and finished with durable powder coating. This process allows us to deliver an almost limitless variety of images, cutouts, styles, and finishes—bringing both function and artistry to your lighting.

1. Do you only supply Planet Fitness?
No. While we are a trusted supplier for Planet Fitness franchisees nationwide, we also manufacture custom sconces, signage, and address plates for other national brands such as Twin Peaks, Smoothie King, and more. In addition, we design and build residential sconces for homeowners and developers who want custom lighting.
2. Are your lights UL-certified?
Yes. All of our sconces are UL-certified and meet franchise and commercial safety requirements.
3. How long does it take to receive an order?
Standard turnaround time is 2–3 weeks. Larger or custom orders may take slightly longer, but we pride ourselves on fast, reliable delivery.
4. Can you make custom designs?
Absolutely. We can design and manufacture custom sconces or signage to match your brand requirements. If you already have artwork or design guidelines, we can work directly from those files.
5. What are your sconces made of?
All sconces are fabricated from high-quality steel or aluminum, laser-cut for precision, and powder-coated for durability.
6. Do you handle shipping?
Yes. We carefully package and ship nationwide. We can also coordinate directly with franchise project managers if multiple locations are being supplied.
7. What payment methods do you accept?
We accept ACH, check, and all major credit cards. For franchise rollouts or larger projects, we also support purchase orders.
8. How do I place an order?
All orders should be emailed to customerservice@smdlights.com. A member of our team will confirm your request and provide next steps.
9. Do you keep inventory or build-to-order?
We keep inventory of our most common SKUs for faster turnaround and build-to-order for specialty requests.
10. Can I get a sample before ordering?
